Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between the application developer ("Developer", "we", "us", or "our") and you ("User", "you", or "your"). By using this mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the App.
Use of the App
You may use the App solely for personal and non-commercial purposes. You agree not to misuse the App or attempt to disrupt its normal operation.
Accounts
This App does not require registration or user accounts. No personal profiles or login credentials are collected or stored by us.
Third-Party Services
The App relies on third-party services:
- Sentry: used to collect technical error reports to help us diagnose and fix crashes or bugs.
- Apple Push Notification service: used to deliver push notifications and Live Activities to your device, and only if you turn notifications on.
These services may process limited technical data from your device. For details, please review their privacy policies:
Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use the App:
- for any unlawful purpose;
- to attempt to interfere with or disrupt the App or its infrastructure;
- to introduce malicious code, viruses, or harmful data;
- to infringe on the rights of others, including intellectual property rights;
- to harass, abuse, defame, or otherwise harm others.
We reserve the right to restrict or terminate your access to the App if you violate these rules.
Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in and to the App (including source code, design, and content) remain the property of the Developer. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App as provided under these Terms.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any damages or losses arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to data loss, technical errors, or interruptions.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after updates indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.

Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how the App collects and processes information. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
Data Collection
The App has no user accounts and requires no registration. We do not ask for or receive your name, email address, Tesla account credentials, or the address of your TeslaMate server. Everything you see in the App is read by your own device directly from your own server, and does not pass through us.
Push notifications are the one exception. They are switched off until you turn them on, and the section below describes exactly what they involve.
Push Notifications (optional, off by default)
Notifications are off until you switch them on, and they stay off unless you also install the Notifier container on your own server. If you never do either, nothing in this section applies to you: we hold nothing about you, and there is nothing for us to delete.
If you do switch them on, here is exactly what that involves. Notifications cannot work device to server. A self-hosted TeslaMate cannot reach an iPhone, and only Apple may deliver a notification to an iOS device. The HedgieMate Notifier container that runs on your own server posts the alert to our relay at push.hedgiemate.com, which hands it to Apple.
While notifications are on, the relay holds:
- an Apple push token for each of your devices, which is what Apple requires to deliver a notification;
- an anonymous linking token that pairs the App with your Notifier container;
- your notification settings, per car and per device;
- the event itself, carrying the event type, battery level, charging state and geofence name. Event data is deleted after a few hours.
The relay passes the notification through. It keeps no history of what was delivered to you and builds no record of your driving, charging or whereabouts.
GPS coordinates, driving routes, your server address and your credentials are never sent to the relay and are never stored by us. All communication is encrypted with TLS, and the relay never connects into your server: every hop points outward. Notification data is never sold, shared, or used for advertising.
You can stop all of this at any time. Turning notifications off in the App removes your push token and your notification settings from the relay, and removing the Notifier container stops any further events reaching us.
Automatically Collected Information
The App uses a third-party service (Sentry) that may collect non-personal, technical information, such as:
- Device type and operating system
- App version and usage patterns
- Error logs and crash diagnostics
This information is collected only for the purpose of improving app stability, performance, and user experience.
Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. No profile is built, no usage is tracked, and nothing is used for advertising.
User Rights
Even though we do not collect personal data directly, if you are subject to data protection laws (such as GDPR or CCPA), you have the right to:
- request access to personal data processed by third-party services,
- request correction or deletion of data (where applicable),
- object to or restrict data processing by third-party services.
To exercise these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. Requests covering the push tokens and notification settings described above are handled by us directly. Requests covering diagnostic data are forwarded to Sentry where appropriate.
Data Security
The only data we hold on our own servers is what the Push Notifications section lists, and only while you have notifications turned on. It is encrypted in transit, and backups of it are encrypted. Data processed by third-party providers is handled according to their security standards.

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected in this document, with the "Last Updated" date shown below. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
